The Market Family is not just about shopping local, we are connecting every participant to each other, either vendors with more customers, volunteers with the community, local friends with newcomers, international community with local groups, and the list goes on and on. We are a multi-directional market group, which means the interactions are not limited to just vendor-customers. We help all participants to connect each other, through family activities, online challenges, games, live performances, cultural and social events, workshops, training, volunteering opportunities for local and international students and/or professionals wanting to expand their network, educational activities, and more. This is a family of friends making more friends and you can be part of it!

About Us

The Market Family is a new community market organization created in 2019, operating online, locally, and globally but also on site in St. John’s (Newfoundland, Canada) and surrounding areas. We are a network of local entrepreneurs from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds, offering multicultural products but also with local signatures from Newfoundland. The Market Family is a large group of experienced local professionals, businesses owners and friends working together offering high quality products, locally handmade, and expanding the cultural concept of community markets in the province.

We work with local business owners who are seeking for promotion, exposure, networking and a closer experience with customers. We support local experienced vendors but also, give opportunities to brand new entrepreneurs who want to make a difference and express themselves through their unique products and connection with the community. 

Location

The Market Family Cafe

Our vision is to create an expanded concept of community market places, where local residents can connect and interact in a friendly atmosphere, making this their preferred place to stop by and be themselves or hang out with new friends. The Market Family Café combines these elements and we are in the process of adding more locations. Currently we are operating as a café inside the YMCA facility on 35 Ridge Rd, St John’s.

Come in and visit to get a hint of what we're up to. The café offers multicultural cuisines and is our pick up venue for any products purchased online from our website. 

Our next location: Coming in 2024/25

Due the impact of COVID we had to postpone our move to end 2024, early 2025. This will be the home for our take out food service, crafts from our artists and a cozy spot to hang out with your friends.
